Ngasi Consulting Engineers is a firm of Structural and Civil Engineers operating mainly in Kenya and specialising in the engineering design of buildings and surrounding infrastructure. The firm is in the process of establishing an office in Kampala , Uganda .
Although the firm was just established in 1998, its Partners and Associates have extensive experience in the provision of Structural and Civil engineering consultancy services in the East African region being Partners in Gordon Melvin & Partners, which operates in three of the countries of the region as locally incorporated firms with local partners.
The senior Partner of the firm is Eng. Nathaniel Matalanga also a Partner of Gordon Melvin & Partners, Kampala .
In Kenya , the firm is responsible for an annual volume of building work to a value of around KShs. 600m.
All the staff of the firm have training in the use of Computer Aided Design. The firm makes extensive use of CAD with four computers, one A1 sized plotter and both 2-D & 3-D software including Structural Analysis and Design (STAAD) and AutoCAD. The office is equipped with telephone, fax and modem communications. Drawings & documents are frequently e-mailed to improve the speed and accuracy of communication between different members in project teams.
Clients have included the World Bank, United Nations Centre for Human Settlements (Habitat), Danish Aid Agency, Barclays Bank of Kenya , The Co-operative Bank of Kenya, PCEA Kikuyu Hospital, Kenya Power & Lighting Company Ltd, Lion of Kenya Insurance Company Limited, Bank of Uganda and many private clients.
